Compilation of a brief list of tips to assist iPad users in getting the most out of the program Microsoft Word.

1. Copy formatting

Have you ever wished you could apply a consistent design to a variety of documents? Word for iPad makes this process a snap. It’s as simple as this:

  • When the black contextual menu displays, select copy.
  • Select the portion of the composition you wish to apply this format to.
  • Now, select Copy Format from the contextual menu to copy the format.
  • Congratulations, text that has been selected will have its format changed.

2. Find share pane

  • Using the Page/ellipsis tool in the document’s upper-left corner, hit Send a Copy.
  • Even if you’ve never used Outlook before, you’ll be given the choice to select a file type (Word or PDF) and to use Outlook to send an email. It’s possible to send the email from another application as well.
  • In this case, you’ll be taken to the iOS Share box, where you’ll be able to pick from options such as AirDrop and Messages.

3. Place the cursor accurately

Hold down the Space bar until it becomes gray. You may now accurately place the cursor using the keyboard area.

4. Change dictionary

You may change the default dictionary in Word by going to Settings>Language&Region. In the Preferred Language Order section, the Add Language button will be highlighted in blue. You can select your preferred dictionary by clicking on this link (including UK English).

When you write in future sessions, you may use the globe/emoticon item on the keyboard to choose the vocabulary you want to use for that particular paragraph. Be aware that it is conceivable that I will accidentally change the language while typing with my thumb, so be on the watch for that.

5. Double-tap

In order to position the cursor on the screen when dealing with text, tap the screen once. Selecting a word by touching it twice, and selecting the entire paragraph by tapping it three times, are other options. After that, you’ll be able to edit the text by cutting, copying, and erasing it, as well as applying text effects.
